Description

My mom bought this little glass candle holder for a dollar while she was down visiting me. It is going to be my Resin Clay Scenery prototype. Today I am adding the fish and topping it off with resin in layers so they are swimming at different levels. I'm pretty excited to finish it. ^.^ There will be enough room for a little tea light candle at the top. And on the next one I think I will try to do something special around the tea light candle so it's not just sitting there.

The inside of the rock is actually tinfoil so I didn't waste my clay. It will be nice and safe in the resin. Around the edges of the rock I placed smaller rocks and yellow, green, and clear Swarovski beads. You can only really see the green and yellow though. There is also glitter on the huge rock, for sparkle ^.^

Sea urchins are a bitch to put together. I almost broke it's little spikes off so many times.

How do you use the resin? I mean, I get that you mix it and pour it to look like water. But when you're working in a glass bowl or other glass item to create an underwater scene, do you bake the clay first and then pour the resin? Or do you not bake it and just pour? Do you bake the pieces individually and then set them in their and carefully glue them together and then pour? I would love to try and create an underwater scene, but am not sure how I would go about it...
